I would like to thank you for helping me realize a personal dream in making it to the Roof of Africa.
Personally i enjoyed the interaction with the porters, waiters and guides. We had an amazing assembly of people who helped us to the top. Our head guide John was an angel and stayed patient despite a very difficult group, explaining everything as many times as required to ensure all the clients understand what to expect. They accommodated difficult dietary requests at short notice and assisted daily when some of the group struggled.
The ginger tea was a huge winner, and we’re still trying to figure out how they made it so delicious on the mountain….recipes are welcome lol.
Overall it was an amazing experience and one of the moments I will always cherish was during our summit attempt, as the sun came up behind Kibo the guides started singing a Swahili song. None of us knew what it meant, but it helped us lift our heads and feet and continue on, a strange reminder of where we were headed and what still needed to be done to reach that dream.

Good day Annale
Firstly I would like to apologise in the delayed reply.
Everything about the trip right from the word GO was SPOT ON.
I do not think I could have asked for a better team of porters and guides.
The guides David, Salim, Nelson are very professional, have an excellent spirit and one could see they form a very good team, always pleasant and encouraging every step of the way.
The cook PASSAT surprised us every meal with delicious and healthy food.
Finally, Yaseen the waiter too has excellent knowledge of the mountain and would make an excellent guide.
The facilities provided far exceeded my expectations.
Finally, I would like to thank you for patiently replying to all my queries.

Everything didn’t happen as I planned, but it did work out for the best. Musa advised me to rather camp at each site as apposed to skipping Shira 1 for an extra night at Barafu. I was hesitant but was swayed by his vast experience on this mountain, and he also taught me that each mountain has its own acclimatisation…. You can’t compare the Himalays to any other experience… This is something I didn’t consider. Musa is very knowledgable and reads his clients abilities much more than the spreadsheet health checks in the am and pm. He watched my pace, rhythm as I fatigued, watched my breathing and signs of distress or any sign of AMS…. I know this not because he told me but because I have a medical background and I am aware of passive physical assessments. The team was awesome overall…. The chef, not cook, did an awesome job preparing food to suit my palate when I had no appetite; the porters are so humble and pleasant to be around; Lawrence Avansi ( hope I spelt his name correctly) who served on me at camps is so humble, helpful and nothing is ever too much. I also enjoyed his humour a lot. I believe he wants to be a mountain guide, and I would invest in him if I was in your seat….. You can teach anyone technical skills, but you can’t teach someone to be nice and true at heart. I believe that the guides and porters of Kilimanjaro on not just employees, but are the guardians of keeping this mountain in its pristine natural glory.
The information package was brilliant for preparation….. Even the bit about not closing your eyes on summit night. I must admit that I close my eyes for 2 or 3 steps and then forced myself to redirect to thoughts of my family as happy diversion to fatigue. Musa was happy with my pace variation between uphill, flats and downhill which I based on this measure. Naturally I was slower at higher altitudes, almost snail pace at Stella Point!!
On last favour, can you pass on this email to Mr. Manasseh particularly in reference to Musa and his team as well as my high recommendation for Lawrence. I hope to return to climb with daughter in 5 years time…. It took me that long to save up for this trip. I know there are cheaper options, but you get what you pay for and I won’t risk life over money on a journey like this. I will definitely use your services in 5 years time and recommend to friends and family.

Thanks so much for everything you did during the process of planning and everything. I honestly have nothing to complain about, only good feedback – and that includes the booking and planning and all of your help, to Charity at the hotel, the hotel itself was wonderful, and everything about the trip. Safi and the guides were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very safe and in great hands with them. The porters and entire staff were wonderful as well. Helpful, friendly and so hard working. I obviously could not have done it without them. The food was delicious and I was shocked by the size of the tents. So much bigger than I’ve had on other guided climbs.
Thanks again for helping make this such an amazing experience. I’ll be recommending you every chance I get!

Both trips were incredible all around. On Kilimanjaro, the guides were wonderful and the experience was quite luxurious. Food was great, gear worked perfectly (I used almost everything on the packing list), group was wonderful.
The safari was also amazing. Carlos Nyoni (our driver and guide) was kind and knowledgable, and a great person all around. Highly recommend him. The Sopa lodges, amount of time on safari, and locations were all perfect as well.
Thank you for all of your help!

Sorry for the delay! Things at work have been super busy since I got back to reality here!
I did get home safe and all of my travel home was very smooth.
Regarding feedback, I have to say that everything was wonderful. The whole team (including the guides, cook, porters, etc) were all amazing. They were extremely professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Safi (the head guide) in particular was so great! The food was amazing as well (way better than I expected), they had great vegetarian options, the tents were comfortable, and the route was great. It was really nice to have multiple guides so that in some areas (especially on the summit) members of the group could go at slightly different paces and everyone still had a guide with them helping out. The hotel in Arusha was really nice as well.
Thanks again for everything!
